Berlin (dpa) – In a coalition dispute with the German climate protection plan Federal environment Minister Barbara Hendricks (SPD) called for a power word of Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU). You have discussed your proposals to comply with the climate targets in advance with the Chancellery.

“If the Directive competence of the Chancellor is something of value, would have to come back, the proposal is almost unchanged from the departments,” said Hendricks, the Newspapers of the Funke media group.

In the climate protection plan 2050 is to show how Germany can achieve the goal of a far-reaching greenhouse gas neutrality by mid-century. The Plan should actually stand up to the UN climate conference in Morocco in mid-November. He can be adopted according to Hendricks because of the Resistors in the Union, but only in December.

All of the ministries would have to assume their responsibilities and to comply with the Commitments to contribute, calling on the SPD-politician. “Some seem to still believe that climate change was solely the pleasure of the Minister of the environment.” At the same time, Hendricks was threatened with legal requirements, should not the climate goals be achieved in the consensus. “The commitments we have made to the protection of the climate, there’s no way,” she said. “If we cannot reach a consensus on the way to the Coal phase-out, to be legal requirements at some point is inevitable, I want to avoid.”
