German industry, many employees no longer counts for more than eleven years. In the premises of the Manufacturing sector with at least 50 employees 5,425 million people were at the end of August. “So the Manufacturing sector reached the highest level since January 2005,” said the Federal statistics office this Monday.
The number of employees increased by 37,000, or 0.7 percent in comparison to August 2015. Reason, the robust economy is the Federal government and Economists expect this year, with economic growth of nearly two percent. Also, the export business is expected to grow, despite moderate global economic growth.
At most, the number of employees increased in the automotive industry as well as in the field of manufacturer of rubber and plastic products. Here, there was an increase of 1.9 percent. The producers of food and feed products reported a growth of 1.7 percent. In the Metal working industry (minus 1.6 percent), chemical industry (minus 0.6 percent) and machinery manufacturers (minus 0.1), in contrast, were reduced.
The number of hours worked also increased, by 7.3 per cent year-on-year month to 671 million. However, the summer month was one of this time, two working days more than the prior year period. The wages and salaries for the employees in the Manufacturing sector increased by 3.3 percent to 21.2 billion euros.
