burst negotiations between Prosegur and Verdi
Because of a strike. the armored car company Prosegur cash runs out of cash machines in Berlin and Brandenburg. Since last Tuesday were about 150 of a total of 350 employees of the Potsdamer Prosegur subsidiary on strike, said Verdi negotiator André Pollmann.
The union demands in the ongoing negotiations on the collective agreement of the Potsdam branch improvements in Christmas and holiday pay. The company supplies, among others, the German bank, Commerzbank, Berliner Bank and in Brandenburg savings banks.
A round of negotiations on Monday had been terminated without result, Pollmann said. “Employers take into account that many bank customers left without money soon.” The strike will now be continued indefinitely. A company spokeswoman said, Prosegur working intensively on emergency plans. “However, we can not rule out that ATMs in the region of Berlin – Potsdam – Frankfurt (Oder) remain unfilled.”
The demands of the union
The Chairman of the Federal Association of German monetary and value-added services, Michael Mewes explained, since 1 May are several ATMs in Berlin and Brandenburg have been empty. Verdi should therefore end the strike immediately. Given negotiated in recent years on average wage increases in the commercial contained claims “totally inadequate,” said Mewes.
According to Pollmann wage improvements as allowance of one euro per hour should be paid. Employers would not mind just 65 cents offered under the condition that the sick leave falls within the company to four percent. “This is not achievable and therefore not acceptable to us,” Pollmann said. Another requirement of the union concerns the better protection of workers in their dangerous profession.
