Walkout to begin tomorrow and be longer than the last. Hamburger lines S1, S3 and S21 run every 20-minute intervals

Hamburg. Thousands train travelers have to adapt again in the next few days to drastic restrictions in train traffic. The German train drivers union (GDL) has called its members nationwide to a multi-day strike. The open-ended walkout scheduled to begin at 2 clock Wednesday morning throughout the passenger and last for the journey strong the day of Pentecost. Already on Tuesday by 15 clock put the train drivers for freight off the job.

It is not yet known how long the strike will go. The end of the union will give only 48 hours in advance known. Supposedly, the date is already fixed. An indefinite strike was not, therefore, said GDL boss Claus Weselsky. However, will the strike “a little longer” take than the previous ones. The train condemned “the de facto indefinite strike in the strongest terms as harassment for many millions of people”.

ended well only a week ago was an almost six-day walkout in passenger transport. It was the longest ever strike in the 21-year history of Deutsche Bahn. The railway will create as soon as possible a replacement schedule for passenger transport, which will be available on the company’s website from this afternoon.

In Hamburg, the S-Bahn trains are on strike. The train would then be served by lines S1, S3 and S21 in 20-minute intervals. The lines S11 and S2 fall out, however, said the Hamburg railway spokesman Egbert Meyer Lovis. To what extent the S31 traffic, depends on whether and how many train drivers will appear for duty. In regional transport, the train frequencies of Hamburg should be thinned to Lübeck, Kiel and Schwerin. The train of the competing railway companies NOB, metronome or HKX are not affected by the strike. Some long-distance bus suppliers want to use more buses.

core point of conflict is now almost a year of collective dispute is that the GDL and the larger Railway and Transport union (ECG) partially want to enter into contracts for the same groups of workers. However, the railway rejects different conditions. In addition, the GDL calls for a reduction of weekly working time by one hour to 38 hours and a limitation of overtime.

After the failed collective talks at the weekend CHRO Ulrich Weber, the GDL had called for strike agreement. The call went unheeded. But the GDL boss Weselsky signaled at least willingness to talk. Even during the strike, the GDL will be the DB management at any time for talks. Should a settlement come about, the GDL is prepared to suspend the strike.
