Johanna Quandt , widow of industrialist Herbert Quandt and second richest woman in Germany has died at the age of 89 years. The BMW heiress died already two days ago in Bad Homburg. The reports the Süddeutsche Zeitung, citing the Johanna Quandt Foundation.
Germany’s second richest woman is dead. Johanna Quandt, the industrialist Herbert Quandt’s widow, died on Monday at the age of 89 years, as its foundation the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” confirmed. Johanna Quandt was with their children Susanne Klatten and Stefan Quandt major shareholder of the automaker BMW, which her husband had built up to large corporations.
Quandt had after training as a medical technician from the mid-1950s in the office worked by Herbert Quandt and was later his personal assistant. In 1960 she was Quandt third wife.
Johanna Quandt was one of the richest women in Germany. After her husband’s death, she inherited the industrial braid and acquired additional participations. End of the 1990s, these were divided among her children Stefan Quandt and Susanne Klatten. Holding together the three 46.7 percent of BMW shares and voting rights, Johanna Quandt were 16.7 percent of BMW. She sat in the car maker for many years on the supervisory board.

815 million euros BMW- Dividend
The Manager magazine estimated the wealth of the Quandt family in October 2014, 31 billion euros. Thus it was the richest family in Germany even before the Aldi heirs. From their shares based Quandt in 2015 alone 815 million euros dividend.
Johanna Quandt also one of the biggest party donors in Germany. But in 2013 she donated together with their two children in total 690,000 euros to the CDU
