IMF calls by Europeans debt relief for Athens – Reuters Germany

Washington (Reuters) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) demands of European debt relief for the cash-strapped Greece.

The Fund could make a decision on additional funding for Athens only when measures to reduce the debt burden of the Greeks had been taken, said IMF representative Delia Velculescu on Thursday. Germany holds a participation of the IMF on a new aid program for Greece requires mandatory, but sees no possibilities for a haircut. Greece should get back on its feet economically with a huge aid package. The three-year bailout program is to have a circumference of 91.7 billion euros, including proceeds from the sale of state assets, such as Reuters learned.

With the new loan the debt of the country in 2016 increased to a record 201 percent of gross domestic product (GDP). To prevent choking from debt relief are provided at certain points. At night the parliament in Athens wanted to vote on the overdue in exchange reform program.
