computing tricks and false labeling. According to SPIEGEL information the consumer center of Hamburg flunk half of the supposedly righteous traded products in a test
Hamburg – In a test of 32 fair trade products the consumer center of Hamburg flunk half and rated as “transparent”. For many products, the consumer advocates even speak of “misnomer”. (Read more on the topic here in the current SPIEGEL.)
In addition to an inscrutable “jumble” of 27 different seals were bothered by the testers, especially in computational tricks: An iced coffee maker screwed its share of fairly traded goods from six up to 60 percent by the water and the water content of the milk out expected at the ingredients. An orange juice producer applied the product with “100% Orange Fair”, which was criticized as “consumer deception”. The label will not mention that the fair product was mixed in the producer country with conventional goods. Such compensation amount is permissible must be at least noted but in Germany on the label. This was not the case with the product under investigation.

It seems quite normal and not as a computational trick that the water is eliminated during coffee. It would even the contrary distort the results if suddenly no longer “fair trade” would be only because of the water of the finished coffee, while the bean or powder were previously still.
What is true for the coffee, also applies to the milk when milk powder is used in the product.

As such seals can usually be purchased while earning the EU and national governments because it is a miracle that there are any “real” fair trade or organic products.
One can certainly assume that most of it is just draufgepappt to make the stupid Konsomumenten a good conscience, because then he’ll pay more genre (yes in the elections as well). A good conscience is needed in Germany at all, in thinking, in speech and, of course food.
Let’s see, when a ban on seal products without coming. Since it can rip properly again.

Yes, Fair Trade was important to me, but I became suspicious by the dilution. If even BioladenmitarbeiterInnen speak openly about it, it is the seal is no longer far away. For me as a consumer that is frustrating, because it actually comes to me that in those who toil on the field for enough money arrives. However, for the farmers, it is a disaster. This involves simply for their existence. And when the Fairtrade market collapses, it can destroy their whole families, while the traders then just switch to conventional.
After uncovering the black sheep must be sorted, and the way to the old standards again be taken. Only then can fair trade again be credible!

I was wondering for a long time, how much really arrive from the additional price for Fair Trade products in the producers .
When a normal pound of bananas cost 1 EUR, the Fair Trade bananas 2 EUR, then the producer either the x-times the others must get. Or it remains largely depend everything on the helpers, and only the smaller part reaches the producer.
It has always been so , can that be done with the bad conscience good business.
Who wants to save the world when shopping makes inevitably for scammers attractive, my compassion has its limits.
