The largest port in Greece’s future majority in Chinese hands, the new owner of Piraeus is the Chinese shipping company Cosco. Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, Cosco Chairman Xu Lirong and the head of the Greek Privatisation Agency signed on Friday the contract.
For 280.5 million euros, the Chinese have bought a share of 51 percent at the port. Another 16 percent migrate after five years for 88 million euros in the hands of the group, if this has not given the agreed investments.
