Starbucks: AmRest accepts 144 German branches – SPIEGEL ONLINE

The US coffee chain Starbucks assigns Germany business new: Polish Dining -Unternehmen AmRest, which already operates in several Eastern European countries Starbucks, accepts 144 German branches of the company, the US company said.

AmRest get exclusive rights for the operation and development of branches. So far, Starbucks ran this on its own. The remaining 14 German stores stay with several existing partners. A total of nearly 2,000 people working at Starbucks in Germany.

The partnership between Starbucks and AmRest there since the opening of the first store of the chain in the Czech Republic in 2008. Since then, AmRest operates coffee houses in Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia – so far there were a total of 103 branches. The purchase price of the German stores is loud AmRest around 41 million euros.
