The German Telekom negotiated according to a report by the Axel Springer Group on a sale the portal T-Online. There were already talks between top executives of both companies,
The German Telekom plans according to a report in the “Business Week” to sell their online news portal T-Online, based in Darmstadt and talks about the Axel-Springer-Verlag. However, the negotiations between the Bonners and the Berliners were still in a very early stage, the magazine writes. Speaker of the publisher and the Telekom wanted this Saturday on request not comment.
T-Online is for information of the sheet which currently has about 374 million unique visitors per month, Germany’s by far the most visited news and entertainment portal on the Internet. This is followed by Ebay to second place and the side Bild.de by Springer in third.
A takeover of T-Online would fit, according to industry observers in the concept of Springer increasingly on the to concentrate the online space.
