BayernLB wants Ecclestone 345 million – derStandard.at

Munich – The dispute over the change of ownership of the formula 1 eight years prior to their boss Bernie Ecclestone has a further court proceedings at the neck. Bayerische Landesbank, which had then sold to the financial investor CVC motorsport series, Ecclestone sued for 345 million euros in damages plus interest, such as a bank spokesman said on Friday on request. This talks between the two sides have failed over a year. BayernLB accuses the 84-year-olds for some time before he had time ensuring that the bank had sold its Formula 1 involvement under value.

The case has already led to a number of court cases. A trial against Ecclestone was set in August against a monetary edition record high of 100 million euros. Only a few days ago Ecclestone made fun with a Christmas card to business associates over the judge’s decision. In a drawing threatens a masked rider Ecclestone holding a money bag, with a gun and declared, “This is not an attack I collect for the Bavarian State.”.

The court had declared a statement of the reasons, the accusation that Ecclestone had the then responsible BayernLB Board Gerhard Gribkowsky bribed within the meaning of the German criminal law had not substantiated substantially. Ecclestone is therefore considered innocent. The same Trial Chamber had two years earlier sentenced Gribkowsky among others for corruption to prison. Unlike Ecclestone Gribkowsky have demonstrably knew that he could accept as a manager of a state bank, not a bribe, the Auffasung of the court.

The German media group Constantin is an action for damages against Ecclestone for the same deal before a London court failed. Constantin was one of the previous owners of Formula 1 and was brought to his own account because of the agreements Ecclestone and Gribkowsky a look at the sale price. Not given up its demand but has Constantin.

Now angstrengte by BayernLB before the Landgericht München action is directed against Ecclestone’s family trust Bambino and other stakeholders, said the BayernLB spokesman. The Bank argues that Gribkowsky had been bribed. “The purchase agreement was not negotiated for this reason, but on terms that were given by Mr Ecclestone and detrimental to the bank were,” said the spokesman. Ecclestone opinion was initially obtained on Friday. (APA, 19.12.2014)
