Athens (Reuters) – Greece seeks, in the words of Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis an agreement with its creditors on Monday to, one day after the referendum.
The government is willing to accept tough conditions, when the sustainability of the Greek debt is secured, Varoufakis said on Wednesday evening on Greek television. Once an agreement is achieved, the ECB will increase its emergency loans to Greek banks and to normalize the situation again. In order to prevent a collapse of the banking system, the government has decided capital controls. Since Monday, the banks are closed.
In a letter to the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras reiterated the euro group chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem, new requests for assistance in the country would only advise in the light of the outcome of the referendum. The Greeks are found on Sunday in a referendum on the demanded by creditors in return for new financial regulations. The government promotes a rejection. On Tuesday at midnight the previous international assistance program had expired. A mature at the IMF loan rate over had not the government in Athens.
