Nuremberg – With the arrival of winter in December, the unemployment rate in the Free State has risen as usual. Nearly 251,700 people were without jobs in Bavaria, which are nearly 10 000 people more than in November. “The rise in unemployment is typical this time of year,” said the new head of the Bavarian labor agencies, Markus Schmitz. However, the increase in job seekers fell that December was lower than in previous years. Parallel to falling unemployment rose employment and social security contributions. “With an employment rate of 77 percent, we have reached a historic high. Never before in Bavaria and more people in work than last year”, said Labour Minister Emilia Müller (CSU) with in Munich.
