The Leipzig motor show AMI falls out this year. After the withdrawal of many large automakers in the past two weeks, the exhibition management has decided to cancel the whole show, said managing director Martin Buhl-Wagner. Until recently, the number of registrations had been lying at the level of the AMI, 2014. Thereafter had “unprecedented development” used and 13 carmaker with 17 brands have withdrawn their participation shortly.
Only last Friday to have several Asian carmakers such as Toyota, Nissan and Subaru withdrawn. Previously, according to the importer association VDIK already Mercedes, Opel and Ford jumped. Mazda and Volvo had declared some time ago not to want to participate. Even Fiat had not registered.

The AMI held every two years alternating with the much larger International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. For last fair edition in 2014 around 242,000 visitors had come and thus about 44,000 less as 2012.
This year, the AMI should open its doors from 9 to 17 of April. It is organized by the Association of International Motor Vehicle Manufacturers.
