Twitter CEO resigns – Reuters Germany


       

San Francisco (Reuters) – Twitter CEO Dick Costolo occurs in the face of disappointing numbers of users back to July 1st. Successor is provisionally co-founder of the US-short message service, Jack Dorsey.


       

The Twitter share stiegt after trading on Thursday almost four percent to $ 37.17.


       

According to a insider it was Costolos own decision to vacate the post. The Twitter-chief was recently come under increasing pressure. The company reported in the Annual Report for the first quarter of next red numbers and lowered its revenue forecast. The number of users that Twitter has a monthly average, also grew more slowly than expected by market experts. This fueled worries that Twitter could continue to lose against competitors like Facebook, Instagram or snapchat ground.


       

Twitter users had his back never really given a reason, said Nate Elliott of the consulting firm Forrester Research. While other services introduced new features, Twitter had practically resigned on the spot. “The result was an unspeakably slow user growth.”


       

Until a new corporate leaders found Dorsey should take over the magazine. He already was sitting in executive chair, from May 2007 to October 2008. In an interview with the Reuters news agency Dorsey said he did not assume that going to change anything in principle on Twitters strategy or orientation. The search for a new Twitter-chief had not yet begun. However, the company wanted to find someone who will use Twitter every day and love. Costolo, who shall remain on the Executive Board, said it would be both internal and external candidates considered.
