Hartz IV: number of permanent recipients has dropped significantly – SPIEGEL ONLINE

The number of permanent recipients of Hartz IV benefits has dropped significantly. The end of 2015 to 2.57 million people lived in Germany for four years or more of Hartz IV, 7.9 percent less than in December last year. This is apparent from data of the statistics of the Federal Employment Agency (BA), on the reports the “Bild” newspaper. With 44.1 percent, these permanent recipients almost half of the 5.84 million recipients of Hartz IV. By comparison, 23.7 percent based since less than a year this benefit. The highest share of permanent beneficiaries in the age group over 55 years. Here live with 66.3 percent two-thirds for more than four years of Hartz IV. Even in children from 7 to 15, the proportion of 48.3 percent is slightly above average, as opposed to the single-parent families, in which 42.2 percent were among the recipients time.
