The former spokesman for US President Barack Obama, Robert Gibbs goes, as head of communications for fast-food giant McDonald’s. Gibbs will be responsible for the global communications and working relations with governments, the company said. The 44-year-old should help McDonald’s in a “modern, progressive Burger company” rebuild.
Gibbs worked at the beginning of Obama’s presidency between 2009 and 2011 as the press secretary of the White House. McDonald’s fights just in its anniversary year, 60 years after opening its first restaurants with declining sales. Reigning since spring CEO Steve Easterbrook therefore strives for a change of image and focuses on healthier foods.Easterbrook also wants to rebuild the administrative and selling the world more Restaunrants to franchisees under.
