Samwer brothers put on Lieferheld
Rocket Internet invested half a billion euros in the delivery business. The name of the Samwer brothers bought for 496 million euros a share of 30 percent at the Berlin Platform Delivery Hero. It offers in 24 countries – in Germany under the name Lieferheld – the ability to order food in restaurants on the Internet and have them delivered. Delivery Hero has indicated that 90,000 restaurants as partners. The company currently has about 5.8 million users, about 63 million times the ordered food last year.
Investments in Spain and Italy
Rocket initially invested in small companies, in the hope that their business will be the next big thing – in this case the food delivery internet. The market is about 90 billion euros in size, estimates Rocket, and is still as good as undeveloped. The company already participates in Food Panda, a competitor of Delivery Hero. The two complemented each region. In addition, Rocket Internet purchases in Spain the delivery service La Roja Nevera and in Italy the deliverer Pizzabo.
