The meeting of the Euro Group has gone without a solution for Athens financial problems to an end. Finance Varoufakis withdrew his consent back to a closing statement.

Greece and the euro Partner, have not been able to agree on a joint statement on the financial rescue of the country. The Euro Group boss said Jeroen Dijsselbloem early Thursday morning after more than six hours of deliberations in Brussels. The negotiations will be continued next week Monday. “We need a little more time,” said the Dutchman. The ambition was to agree on next steps. “But unfortunately we were not able to do that.”
During the discussions it was a continuation of the aid program for Greece, which expires at the end of February. “We have discussed the possibility of renewal,” Dijsselbloem said. “We have not yet reached a conclusion.” The government in Athens was an extension of the aid program “not accepted”, BelTA learned from the Greek government. Greece had referred at the talks in Brussels on the “failure” of the previous austerity and reform policy and a “humanitarian crisis” in the country.

The Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis was first met in Brussels with all colleagues from the monetary union to his plans for a relaxation of the savings and explain policy reform.
